Essentially, all models are wrong, but some are useful.

YYY is an office for spatial strategies. We work independent or we collaborate with your small or large firm to generate, screen, and research high-impact spatial concepts for a new approach, brand position and/or design strategy. Our concept development engagement is a blend of creative and analytical. We incorporate research and creative concept generation into strong spatial scenario’s.
YYY is founded by Mendel Robbers. He gained his Bachelors and Masters degree at the Architecture Department of the Technical University of Eindhoven and the Aarhus School of Architecture. Since, he has worked as an architect and researcher for UNStudio, OMA and Venhoeven CS. Robbers has worked on a number of notable competitions, and commissions such as the winning schemes for the Shenzen Stock Exchange (China), Stadskantoor Rotterdam (NL), Coolsingel/Koopgoot II (NL). During his work for AMO, Rem Koolhaas’ thinktank, he participated in several research projects for the Dutch Government (Randstad 2040), the EU (Image of Europe) and the Venice Art Biennale.
In 2008 Mendel Robbers started practice YYY (why why why). With YYY he worked as a spatial strategist for several governmental organizations and real-estate companies, amongst other projects in the Netherlands, Brazil and Romania. Since 2011 he is working with Ir. Stephen Lewis (urbanicity) on redevelopment projects in Russia, such as the redevelopment of the former AMO-Zil factory and the former Tushino airfield.
Robbers is appointed as a member of the Quality Team of the ‘Brainport Avenue’ highway corridor around the city of Eindhoven (NL). He also is a lecturer at the infratecture program of the Rotterdam University of applied science.
